PTFE COATED GLASS FABRIC

PTFE-coated glass fabrics, often mistakenly referred to as Teflon® fabric or Teflon® paper, are versatile and high-performance materials. They are widely used in a variety of industrial applications due to their excellent properties of being non-stick, thermal, and chemical-resistant. These fabrics are made from high-quality glass cloth that is coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), also known as Teflon® (Dupont de Nemours brand).

Application

Non-Adhesive PTFE coated Glass Fabric : These fabrics are commonly used in industrial applications where adhesion is not desired, such as electrical insulators, gaskets, conveyor belts and non-stick coatings.
Self-adhesive PTFE coated Glass Fabric : These materials are extensively used in the food industry for baking trays, conveyors, and non-stick seals. Furthermore, they are beneficial for thermoforming and heat-sealing applications.

General specifications

Heat resistance : Usually, PTFE-coated glass fabrics can withstand temperatures ranging from -73°C to around +260°C
Low coefficient of friction.
Non-stick properties : PTFE provides a non-stick surface, preventing materials from sticking to it, making cleaning and repeated use easier.
Chemical resistance : PTFE exhibits remarkable resistance to harsh chemicals, acids, and bases, thus making it appropriate for a vast array of settings. (There are exceptions, however, for certain reactive agents such as fluorine, sodium, and potassium at high temperatures.)
Resistant to ultraviolet (UV), infrared (IR), microwaves and radio frequencies.
Complies with food contact standards.
Non-combustible - Self-extinguishing.
Low thermal expansion.
Exceptional electrical and dielectric properties.

specifications

Black PTFE coated glass cloth is a highly specialized material derived from brown PTFE (Teflon®) coated glass fabric. Its specific black PTFE coating gives it unique properties for eliminating static electricity during use. Ideal for applications requiring static management, this fabric is used in a variety of sectors, including textile presses, sensitive electronic equipment and pharmaceutical and chemical environments. With its non-stick surface and heat resistance, it is reliable, durable and high-performing for demanding applications.

Laminated PTFE

specifications

PTFE laminates are flexible composites that combine the mechanical properties of glass fiber reinforced with multilayer fluoropolymer films. These laminates are non-porous, making them excellent for applications requiring an effective protective barrier.

PTFE laminates provide excellent performance in intense temperature cycling applications. Their fully smooth PTFE surface has good barrier qualities, making them highly resistant to bacterial contamination. PTFE laminates are ideal for applications requiring an effective protective barrier, including the food and chemical industries.

PTFE laminates are increasingly replacing conventional PTFE-coated fabrics in the most demanding applications, especially in the chemical and food industries. This is due to their superior performance, including an extremely smooth surface, release properties, chemical resistance, ease of cleaning, and increased productivity.

The multi-layer PTFE barrier film sets laminated PTFE glass fabric apart by providing long-lasting release and transfer capabilities
